Welcome to the website of The Centre for Applied Buddhism. Buddhist philosophy and contemporary life.
This is a new, exciting centre of inquiry and study for all people who are interested in exploring and investigating contemporary ideas and their relationship with Buddhist thought.
We focus on Buddhism and its application to the world and to people’s lives .
The areas of exploration are huge and over time will include such areas and topics as psychotherapy, war, economics, science, the digital world, creativity, peace, the environment, ethics and gender.
At present our focus is on Buddhism and Conflict Transformation, Global Citizenship and Human Rights, UN SDGs, Dialogue processes in Peace Building.
Central to our work and activities will be an openness to all and dialogue with people from diverse backgrounds.
The work is developed in seminars, conferences, symposiums, workshops and on the internet.
We have a great library, a real library with books, which is available to anyone who requires it.
Our approach is personal and accessible and at the hub of all this will be inter relationships, friendship and dialogue.
In addition we carry out academic study and seminars.
Please see the news section on the home page to see our next public events.
